POWERFUL SOLAR ECLIPSE!

Eclipse number two has arrived, and it is a big one! It is the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Winter Solstice in the the Southern Hemisphere. The eclipse will land on the Solstice point at 0° Cancer. This is an important point in the heavens because it is a point in the zodiac which we call the Cardinal or World Axis. All solstice or equinox points fall on this axis which is the area where global events happen, where people who have these points in their chart gain a certain amount of notoriety or fame. Therefore when an eclipse falls on this point, we can expect a certain amount of intensity around global events or people in the news or media. Since events in the world have been non-stop, I do expect there to be more news and information flying around. Venus is still in retrograde and Mercury has also turned retrograde in the last few days, which has made information confusing and changing in a moment’s notice.

All the energy is focused in the one place - in the early part of the sign of Cancer. On the one hand it is a New Moon and it is always a good time to initiate projects, clear the space in your home or office or make a wish or manifestation plan for something in your life. This is particularly good because the Moon rules the sign of Cancer, so it is in a powerful place and therefore more beneficial in bringing us what we wish to manifest. Since we are dealing with the sign of Cancer, this is about family, home, nurturing and especially self-care. It’s really a time to take care of yourself and your own. On the other hand, we are still in the retrograde cycles of Mercury and Venus and there is another eclipse coming in two weeks. So, I would suggest that thinking about implementing new projects and working on them for the next several weeks is the best course of action.

This eclipse is also occurring nearest to the North Node of Destiny. This is also good news because it is an event of creating, instead of releasing the old, as the last eclipse was 2 weeks ago. Eclipses always bring emotions to the table, so if there have been unspoken feelings in your life, this may be a time when they get expressed. Just use caution and patience as this potent energy can set fire to a conversation in one minute. If you feel like you may lose your head, go for a walk, a swim, a meditation or even a nap. It’s not worth it to lose your temper when the energy will naturally calm down.

The interesting aspect that is closest to this eclipse is one from Saturn in Aquarius. The eclipse makes an aspect called a quincunx, which is an aspect of adjustment, sometimes a bit needling. Saturn is a planet of rules, responsibilities and caution. We may all need to make additional adjustments in these next days, especially if you feel your freedom has been restricted in any way. More importantly, Saturn is in the place where it will meet Jupiter in December of this year - one of the most important aspects of the year. The Jupiter Saturn conjunction only happens once every 20 years. Notice what happens at this eclipse, it may be giving you a clue as to what to expect on December 21, when this significant aspect graces all of our lives and leaves its mark for many years to come.
