Rocktober is here!
Yes, October is a rockin’ month and one that offers us all a great amount of forward movement. If you’ve already been feeling the wild energies, you are right on target. First, there is the direct motion of Pluto from its retrograde on October 6th. Pluto, being the god of the underworld, will show us what we have achieved in these months of introspection. There is always something being unearthed as Pluto moves forward, especially since it is in the sign of Capricorn which is an earth sign. It is a big release of energy, one where we can feel a sense of relief as deep and powerful emotions we have been working through in these months since April can now clear our energy fields. Inevitably we will feel the shift of progress in ourselves and our lives as this annual station of Pluto occurs. What has been at the core of your being in these months? Where do you feel like you may have been held back and now can move forth in a transformative way? Sometimes we aren't even aware of how much we have accomplished and achieved while Pluto is in its retrograde for five or six months. As the direct station occurs, we may be surprised as to what is revealed to us and how powerful the onward motion really is.
On the same day, there will be a New Moon in Libra. This New Moon occurs with Mars which gives it an extra punch of energy, despite Mars being more refined in Libra. Mars is the planet of confidence and self assertion. This is a lot of progressive energy in one day. It’s actually rather auspicious because it propels us into our mission and helps us in any way where we may have felt stagnant. New Moons are always great times to do a manifestation ritual, such a making a list of what you’d like to receive and lighting candle to honor the lunation. Libra is an air sign and therefore words are important in this type of ritual this month. Mercury, planet of communication, writing and thinking is retrograde in Libra and it is important to be clear and specific on our wishes.
The New Moon on the 6th will feature four planets in Libra - Sun, Moon, Mars and Mercury. Libra is ruled by Venus and therefore we are looking to the goddess of love and beauty for answers during this time. Since Venus will be in Scorpio during the lunation, she will be ruled by Pluto - which is of course, stationing direct. Much is to be revealed about relationships during this time, but Venus will make a swift move into Sagittarius the next day which will be a positive shift. Within a few days of entering the sign of the archer, Venus will cross over the South Node of Destiny on Oct 9th - and the Moon will join her there. This will be a big release of pent up emotions and will bring promising, optimistic energies to our lives.
Next will be Saturn’s station direct on October 10th, which could encourage the forward movement of any new projects, jobs, businesses and work that was started during the retrograde period. We have a desire for new structures and clarity that we may feel was missing from our lives.
On October 17th, a week after Saturn, the planet Jupiter will be moving forward from its own retrograde period. Expansion that we’ve been working on will begin to bear fruit. The day after will finally be Mercury’s direct motion, the cherry on the cake! This will be the fourth planet to move in direct motion within 12 days. All of this progressive movement is an enormous time of transformation. The work and expansion that we have been devoting our energy to for the greater part of this year will finally show itself as a powerful leap in the direction where we’ve been focusing our attention. It may seem that daily activities and regular life experiences have been turned upside down. You may feel chaotic and have random experiences that don’t seem to make sense. You are not alone, we will all be handling major waves of planetary movement. Think of it as life finally moving forward after a very long wait. Planets do this all the time, they retrograde, then they change direction months or weeks later. But it almost never happens where 4 of them are doing it in such close proximity to one another. It speaks of a grand moment where it may take a few weeks for the list to settle afterwards. Be patient with life and with yourself. Just know the wait is over.
